This week on the farm we are still preping for planting, afterall it takes alot of preperation and planning to plant 38,000 acres!  Right now guys are working on replacing worn parts on planters and tillers and fertilizer and seed is being ordered. We are just waiting on the weather to warm up enough to plant, hopefully in March!

The other side of the farm is working on emptying grain bins and delivering grain to the grainerys. In two weeks time we have delivered over 280,000 bushels of soybeans. Thats alot of beans!

Within two weeks we have had single digit temperatures, snow, rain, temps above 55, and sunshine. The pictures below are all within the same week! If you don't like the weather in Kentucky just give it a couple of days and it will change! The guys have been busy in the shop with repairs and parts inventory. They just finished  the last of the Anhydrous appliators and are moving on to vertical tillage and planters. Our truck guys are keeping the road hot between here and the grainery delivering corn and soybeans. Our Tobacco guru Chris will deliver our last load of tobacco this week! We also have some of the cutest visitors in the office today!

Snow Days

Its been a week since the snow started falling and there are still lots of ice covered roads in Trigg county! It makes getting around a little difficult but it sure is pretty. On the other hand it creates a much needed break from the fast pace farming we are used to. Today is the first day they guys have been able to get the trucks back on the road hauling grain so things are starting to pick back up!
Right before Christmas we had some additions to the SSF family. Sadie had ten puppies and they are stinkin' cute! You can find out more about them at www.sevenspringsdoodles.com 2018 is going to be a big year at SSF. We have lots of things happening on all sides of the farm. We will do our best to keep you posted! Here is whats outside our window today. Lots of melting snow, blue skies and sunshine!

Halfway!

We are over halfway finished with Corn Harvest 2017! Here are some pictures for your viewing pleasure!

Happy Harvest!

We are in the midst of Harvest 2017! We have been hard at if for a couple of weeks now and we are having a nice little break this week because of the rain form Hurrican Irma. Our thoughts and prayers are with the thousnds of families devestated by Harvey and Irma.

We are a little over 15% finished with corn harvest and its only September 13th! Seven Springs has been blessed this year with a great corn harvest and our tobacco isnt to shabby either! Thank you to all of the guys who worked long hours all weekend to get as much corn in as possible before it rained!

Weird Weather!

This year has had all kinds of odd weather and its only March! Its been 75 and sunny then 21 and snowing all in the same week. If you don't like the weather in Kentucky just wait a day or two and it will change! Here at SSF we are trying to prep the fields for planting corn. Here is the catch, we can't spray when its windy and we can't spray when its cold. So not alot anything is happening out in the fields.  We do have some cool pictures from the few days we have been able to spray!

The End is Near!

We are well over half way finished harvesting soybeans! The 2016 harvest is almost over. We would like to thank everyone for all of their hard work and long hours! Check out these pictures of our 2016 soybean harvest.
